The Wisconsin Apple Growers Association in cooperation with the University of Wisconsin Extension is holding the annual Apple Field Day, Wednesday, July 19, 2023. The Field Day is hosted by Northwoods Orchard The program begins at 9:00am 


The Field Day is open to all apple growers and is a good opportunity to ask questions, learn from experts, and talk with other growers. 

To Register: Click on the REGISTER button.  Log in to the Wisconsin Apple Grower Assn website with your email address.  Fill in the appropriate information.  To add additional people from your orchard, click "Add Guest" at the top menu

Cost of event:   (includes lunch and refreshments)

 •$40 / person—Wisconsin Apple Grower member orchard or business

•$60 / person—non-WAGA members

There will be a $10 late fee per orchard/company charged for registrations after July 14, 2023.

How To Find Northwoods Orchard 

Northwoods Orchard is located in Mauston, Wisconsin just 2 miles outside of town towards Elroy on Highway 82. The orchard and farm market is on the right side of the road.    

Northwoods Orchard

Founded in 1948, Northwoods Orchard is now operated by the three Miller siblings. This orchard provides a wide variety of agricultural tourism activities and opportunities to celebrate local Wisconsin agriculture.

9:30 – Welcome and Introduction of the Orchard by Elizabeth

9:30—UW-Extension Rotation

    Rotating Field Session I—Use of ReTain and NAA for harvest management and fruit drop control, Amaya Atucha, UW Madison Horticulture

    Rotating Field Session II— Coddling moths and Japanese beetles , Christelle Guedot, UW Madison Entomology

    Rotating Field Session III—Plant pathology and post harvest rots Leslie Holland, UW Madison Plant Pathology

11:30—Lunch – included with Registration / Visit Exhibits

 12:30—Orchard-Rite, Superior Wind Machine Service, INC.-Lee DeLeeuw
