Growers receive many benefits from joining the Wisconsin Apple Growers Association (WAGA). WAGA provides current legislative information, conducts education workshops, field days and promotes apples all year round. Members can sell their unused items on our Web site and in our newsletter. Join us now to improve your apple business.
WAGA keeps its members informed through direct mailings and fax broadcasts. Members receive the APPLE PRESS packed with Wisconsin apple information six times yearly. We also develop and supply Wisconsin-related promotional materials not found elsewhere.
WAGA sponsors the three-day Wisconsin Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Growers Conference in January. A 100 exhibit trade show is part of that conference. We also conduct the Winter Field Day--a pruning workshop held in January. Our Cider Workshop is held during March with sessions for commercial cider producers.
The Integrated Pest Management Field Day keeps growers apprised of current trapping and scouting techniques. The Summer Apple Field Day is held at an orchard for a first-hand educational experience. It gives growers an opportunity to exchange ideas. WAGA has a booth at the Wisconsin State Fair selling and promoting fresh apples and apple products. We also participate in other promotions such as the Apple Recipe Contest each fall.
As you can see, we're very active.
