Taking A Good Picture

Here are some tips for taking a photograph of your entry:

  1. Style counts!  Place your entry on a nice serving plate or dish.

  2. Use a pretty background, such as a placemat or table cloth.

  3. You may dress up the appearance with candles, flowers, apples, napkin, silverware, etc.

  4. Your entry may benefit from placing a serving of your entry on a plate by itself to show the inside texture and color.

  5. Decide the best angle - from the top, from the side, or at an angle above your entry.

  6. Get close!  Most cameras take good pictures at 2-3 feet - some even closer.  Make sure your photo is in focus, however.

  7. Try a couple of different shots so you can choose your best.

  8. Pictures can be taken with a digital camera and printed by you or with a regular film camera.  Preferred picture size is 4x6 or 3x5.
